Maxwell Tribune: Wm. Linn, a conductor on the C. M. & St. P. Ry. and a former resident of Collins, lost his footing and fell from his train near Scotland, S. D. last Tuesday, and was so badly crushed by the wheels that all efforts to save his life were unavailing and he passed away on last Thursday. The remains were brought to Collins for interment....

Collins Clipper: ....In our last issue we mentioned the death of W. H. Lynn. The circumstances of the death are very sad. Mr. Lynn was conductor on a freight train from Sioux City to Scotland, S. Dakota. While three miles from Scotland at 5 a. m. October 23rd, he fell between the cars of the moving train and was dreadfully hurt. The injured man was taken to the hotel at Scotland and a 4:30 p. m. of that day he died....
