Miss Alice Gravdal died at the home of her stepfather, Joseph Johnson, last Monday. She was buried at one o'clock Thursday, the sermon being delivered by Rev. Smedal. She went to a far better place than this world. Miss Alice was a bright girl of 14. She was confirmed three weeks ago by Rev. Smedal. She was taken sick a week ago and it seemed nothing could help her. Our sympathy is with the family in their sorrow.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Alice Gravdal/Gravdahl was the daughter of Thomas S. Gravdahl and Bertha Christine Boland Jacobson. Thomas and Bertha married in McCallsburg, Story County, Iowa 18 February 1885. Bertha married secondly Joseph Johnson 25 March 1896 in Randall, Hamilton County, Iowa.
