Story City Messenger: ....S. H. Miller died last Friday at the home of T. C. Miller, his son. Mr. Miller was an old settler here and war upwards of 80 years old.

Story City Herald: ....S. H. Miller, father of Tom Miller of this place, passed into the great beyond, after an illness of about 6 weeks, Oct. 4th and was buried Oct. 7th. Mr. Miller was quite an old man, having passed the 70th milestone in his life. He was born in Denmark and has been a resident of this place for 28 years....
