Collins Clipper: ....Emma M. Day was born May 15, 1851, in Marion county, Indiana. She came to Iowa with her parents in 1865 and settled in Collins township and has lived here eer since up to the time of her decease. She was married to Thomas P. Evans Dec. 18, 1870. To them were born five children, four daughters and one son. She departed this life just before the dawn of the morning of June 7, 1900.
