From Story County Watchman March 30, 1900

On Monday morning Miss Laura E. Pearce died at the residence of her aunt, Mrs. Clara McCall, at the age of 33 years. She has been a resident of this city some four years and has been ill for several months. Brief services were held at the residence under the direction os Rev. Sanford afer which the remains were taken to Carrollton, Ohio for interment. They were accompanied by her mother and sister, Mrs. Bour, and Mr. Ed C. McCall of this city, who accompanied them on their trip of sorrow.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: "Mrs. Clara McCall" was Clarissa "Clara" (Kennedy) McCall, third wife of Thomas Clifton McCall. Laura E. Pearce was the daughter of John Bradley Pearce and Melissa (Kennedy) Pearce, Clara's twin sister.
