DIED.--At the residence of her parents in Milford township on the 24th day of January, Mable Rowena Smith, daughter of L. H. and Mattie G. Smith, aged 21 years and two days, from typhoid fever. She was born in Milford township January 22, 1879, and always lived in this county and became a teacher at the age of 18, and made one of the best. She had been teaching in Colorado and was at home for a visit with her parents when taken with the dreaded disease and never recovered from its severe attack. The services were held at the home in Milford by the Rev. St. Clair of Ames who gave them a fine discourse, after which the remains were laid to reat to await the call to future glory in the world to come. She leaves parents, two brothers and two sisters, and a host of friends to mourn her loss.
