From Story County Watchman January 19, 1900

Ames Times: ....Mr. Benjamin Woodruff died last night at six o'clock while sitting at the supper table, at the home of his son H. N. Woodruff, death being from old age. Mr. Woodruff was eighty-five years old.

Grandpa Woodruff died at his son Henry's last evening the 17, and will be buried tomorrow. Services at the Christian Church at 11 o'clock, after which the remains will be laid in the Ontario cemetery.
