From Story County Watchman January 12, 1900

Yesterday Mrs. Fletcher Brown received a telegram to the effect that her brother had just died in Chicago, and she at once started for that city accompanied by her brother Rev. Holmes, who was here attending the revival meetings and visiting with her.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: "Mrs. Fletcher Brown" is Ervilla Belle (Holmes) Brown and "Rev. Holmes" is Edmund Meek Holmes. They are the children of Jacob Meek Holmes and Margaret (Bradford) Holmes.
