Friday W. W. Talbott* was in Belle Plaine called by the death of his grandmother, Mrs. Esther Greenlee, who died at that place. Mrs. G. was born in 1818 and had made her home at Belle Plaine since 1846 making her one of the oldest settlers in that section.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: William Washington Talbott was the son of Alexander Armstrong Talbott and Nancy Ann (Greenlee) Talbott. Nancy's parents were William Greenlee and the deceased, Esther Nestley (Furnas) Greenlee thus making her W. W. Talbott's maternal grandmother.
