DIED--Jesse Ross, a resident of Franklin township for over forty years, at the home of his daughter near Boone, Saturday evening, Jan. 14, at 5 o'clock. Mr. Ross had been ill for several weeks with a complication of diseases which resulted in his death. Jesse Ross was born in Galia county, Ohio, April 8, 1827, removing with his parents to Indiana when yet a boy. At the age of 22 years he was married to Jane White at Valpariso, Ind. In the spring 1854 he removed to Boone county and purchased the piece of land on shich he has resided ever since. His wife died March 23, 1893. The deceased leaves eight children, six daughters and two sons, to mourn the loss of a dear father.
