The funeral of Chas. Hardy, noted last week by us as smothered in a gravel pit, came off Sunday and the remains were laid away in our beautiful cemetery to await the last call, under the ministrations of Rev. Henderson. The family hae the sympathy of all in this their hour of trial trusting they will look to the one source from which consolation alone can come. His age was about 17 years, and he was born in Whiteside county, Ill. He was a good boy and always did that which was for the best interests of this home where he will be greatly missed. Rev. Henderson was assisted in the last rites by Dr. Bunce and Mr. Carmean.
