From Story County Watchman June 17, 1898

DIED--On Friday last at her home at Iowa Center, Mrs. Dwight D. Sheldon aged about forty-four years. Her early days were passed at Eddyville, Iowa, and she attended the Iowa Agricultural college at Ames. She leaves a husband, two sons and relatives to mourn her loss. Her loss has been a detriment to not only her family but the entire community as well. The funeral was largely attended on Sunday last in Woodlawn cemetery at that point. Our Iowa Center correspondent refers to the deceased and the following resolutions were adopted:

Again the dread messenger death has visited our midst. On last Friday morning the spririt of Henrietta Sheldon left the mortal body and returned to God who gave it. She was an exemplary woman and her life wil be a bright and shining light in our community. She was laid to rest Sunday, June 12, in Woodland cemetery, amid a large concourse of friends.

The following resolutions were adopted by the Woman's Cemetery Association of which she was a member:
WHEREAS, The great and Supreme Ruler of the Universe has in His infinite wisdom removed from among us one of our most worthy and esteemed laborers, and,
Whereas, The intimate relation held withher in the faithful discharge of her duties in the Association make in eminently befitting that we record our appreciation of her, Therefore,
Resolved, That in the death of Sister Sheldon our association has lost a faithful, devoted, working member, and the community a noble christian women.
Resolved, That the removal of such a life from among our midst leaves a vacancy and a shadow that will be deeply realized by this Association and the community.
Resolved, That in her decease the husband has lost a loving companion, the family its dearest member and that we extend to them our heartfelt sympathy in this hour of affliction.
Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be spread upon the records of this association, a copy printed in the Maxwell Tribune and Nevada WATCHMAN, and a copy given to the bereaved family.

Last Friday June 10th, occured the death of Mrs. D. D. Sheldon. She had been sick about four weeks and although every thing was done to relieve her, she suffered constantly. The remains were laid to rest in Woodland Cemetery Sunday.
