Word was received in the city last evening and Dr. Smith went to Colo to consult upon the dangerous illness of Mrs. Stella Adams with Dr. Hostetter. This morning word has been received that Mrs. Adams died during the night. Only a few short days since we noted that death of the wife of the brother of Mr. Adams and today we note that of the brothers. We are not advised as the the cause of death. It is sad to think that the young and joyous life is thus cut short when just at the age to get the greatest enjoyment from this earth. The sympathy of THE WATCHMAN is extended to the stricken ones in this hour of their trial.

Estella Delta Adams, wife of Loa A. Adams, was born in Colo, Iowa, Jan. 29, 1877, and died at her home in Colo May 6, 1897, aged 20 years, 3 months and 7 days. Mrs. Adams' death was a surprise to all, as was the death of Mrs. O. H. Adams a few days previous and the two deaths have cast a gloom of sadness over our community.

An infant daughter and a loving husband, with many friends and relatives mourn her loss, so early in life. She was a member of the United Evangelical church and a consistent christian woman. The funeral services were held on Saturday at 2 p. m. at the home and was largely attended. Rev. Pickford assisted by Rev. Golden, of Des Moines and Rev. Skogberg, of Zearing conducted the services. The sympathy of all our people is extended to the bereft ones in their loss.

Died, at her home in Colo May 6, 1897, after a few day's illness Mrs. L. A. Adams, aged 20 years. It is just three short weeks ago that the angel of death had visited this little city and claimed for her own our dear friend Mrs. O. H. Adams. Never has a community known a deeper sorrow than when from lip to lip and heart to heart are spoken that our dear friends are no more residents of earth. Their sweetness of spirit, their amiabilities and above all the beauty of their characters has secured for them a large place in the affections of all who knew them. Their perfect christian trust failed them not in their last days and hours of their life; and although they longed to live for the the sake of their dear ones, yet they rested it all with their Lord knowing that "He doeth all things well." Their life was pure, their death was peaceful and their friends are comforted that on bright wings they left them, they exchanged the "Cross for the Crown," the sorrows here on earth for the joys of the angels in heaven.
