From Story County Watchman January 22, 1897
Wm. Zenor has gone the way of all the earth. He died at twenty minutes past twelve Wednesday, Jan. 13, at his home in Zenorville. He was one of the oldest settlers at that place, having come there from Clay county, Indiana, in 1852. Was born in 1821. A wife and three children survive him. The oldest daughter is the wife of Mike Zenor of Zenorville. Next a son, J. P., who lives at Hubbard, Iowa, and the youngest daughter is the wife of K. Zenor, of Stanhope. All were present at the funeral, which took place Thursday at 12 o'clock. Services were conducted by Rev. Cox of Gilbert, at the Evangelical church. The remains were taken to Ontario for burial. It was interesting to hear Mr. Zenor tell about the many deer hunts he has had among these hills and hollows in sight of his own residence.
