Maxwell Tribune: ....Alexander McConnell, a well known and respected citizen of Maxwell was born at Chestertown, Wayne county, Ohio, July 6, 1829, and died of dropsy at his home, October 18, 1896, at 4 p. m.; aged 67 years, 3 months and 12 days. On July 9, 1888, Mr. McConnell married his third wife, Mrs. Maria West, who is his surviving widow. Besides his relatives, Mr. McConnell leaves many friends to mourn his departure from this life. The large number at the funeral services to look, for the last time, upon the form they loved so well and respected as highly, attest of his fidelity as a citizen and neighbor; as such, he was honest and upright in his dealings, never exacting more than just in all his transactions; he was kind and charitable, loving and forgiving.
