Walter, the eleven year old son of G. W. Thornwell, living south of Elwell, was killed by lightening on Thursday morning of last week. He was out under a shed, near the stable, athe the time. The house was struck at the same time and considerably damaged, but no one in the house was hurt. The funeral of Walter was held on Friday afternoon at Elwell, and was conducted by Rev. Force, assisted by Rev. Ferguson. Much sympathy is felt by the people for the family in this sad bereavement.
