From Story County Watchman December 6, 1895

Died. Thursday, at 12 [o'clock] of consumption, Fred Horner [aged] 31 years. Mr. Horner was a [native] of Germany and had no fri[ends or] relatives so far as known. F[uneral] service was held as the M. E. church at half past two p. m. Sunday, Revs. Everly and Elliott officiating. The services were in charge of the K. of P.'s and the I. O. O. F., deceased being a member of both orders.
