OBITUARY.--Cora M. Stoddard was born in Iowa Center, Iowa, June 1, 1881. Died in Des Moines, Sept. 19, 1895, aged fourteen years, three months and eighteen days. Cora was the only daughter of Mrs. Mary Stoddard, who was a resident of Nevada for a number of years. Cora was a very bright and interesting girl, and was the joy of her mother's heart, as Mr. Stoddard died in 1884, and Cora seemed all that was left to her mother. The remains were brought to Nevada, and on Saturday afternoon Rev. R. A. Ferguson, of Maxwell, conducted a short service at the home of Saml. Harrison, and the remains were laid to rest in the Mullen Settlement cemetery. There is much sympathy here for the grief stricken mother. Mrs. S. was employed in the Highway office for a long time, afterwards she was in the Tribune office at Maxwell. She had just returned to Des Moines when this bereavement overtook her. Where she will make her home for the future we know not.
