From Story County Watchman June 21, 1895

Roland was again shocked on Tuesday, June 18, over a horrible accident which happened to a small child in the afternoon at about 2:30. Little Ida, the two-year-old child of T. O. Savim was playing in the yard at her father's place, just west of town, when a horse broke loose and running into the yard where the child was playing trampled on her helpless body before the horrified father, who witnessed the scene, could rescue her. The child died of the internal injuries received in a few hours. The funeral was held Wednesday at 3 p. m. The parents take it very hard, as this is the last of their three little girls to pass from time to eternity.
