Levi W. Powls died at Peoria last Friday night and was buried on Sabbath. Rev. R. A. Ferguson conducted the funeral services, assisted by Rev. John Doty. Mr. P. was a member of the 87th Ind. Inf. and was severely wounded in the hand, at the battle of Perryville, Ky. he was drawing a pension of $30.00 per month. He leaves a wife and a number of children. He belonged to the Post at Colfax, but it being too far for them to come, the remains were taken charge of by Ewing Post, of Maxwell, and the ceremonies at the grave were according to the ritual of the G. A. R.
