Mrs. Mary E. Eckard Succumbs At Home

Mrs. Mary Esther Eckard, 84, life long resident of Iowa, died at midnight at her farm home near Zenorsville, following an illness extending over a number of years.

Mrs. Eckard was born in Des Moines, April 28, 1848, and lived in Iowa all but two years spent in Illinois. She lived on the Zenorsville farm 31 years. Her husband, Andrew E. Eckard, died a few years ago.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter: Samuel of Zenorsville; Le Roy of Ames, and Mrs. Carrie L. Williams of Zenorsville.

The body was taken to the Adams mortuary where it may be viewed until Friday morning, when it will be taken to the home.

Funeral services will be held from the United Brethren church in Ames, Saturday at 2 p.m. The Rev. C. C. Dillavou, pastor of the church, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. L. H. Wood of Zenorsville. Burial will be made in the Ontario cemetery.
