Story City Herald: ....A sad accident occured at the home of George Larson who lives five miles northwest of town, Saturday. It was about 3 o'clock in the afternoon when Harry and Adolph Larson, in company with Ole and Henry Lund, Thomas and Annas Jacobson, neighbor boys, started out to look at the sheep. Harry, aged 12 years, was carrying a 22 caliber rifle the boys walking beside him. They had only been out a few minutes and were only a few rods from the house when the little boy came running back and informed his father that Adolph, his brother, had been shot. Mr. Larson hastened to the scene of the accident, gathered the unfortunate little fellow up in his arms and hurried to the house. Placing him on the sofa, Mr. and Mrs. Larson applied cold water to his brow and lips and hastily dispatched a messenger for th doctor but before the doctor could hitch up and start a second messenger came and brought the news of the boy's death. In less than thirty minutes from the time of the shooting the boy was dead. The ball entered the body between the two lower ribs on the right side and passed through, coming out on the opposite side.
