From Story County Watchman October 5, 1894
A telegram dispatch was received the first of the week by Jud Ray of this city that his daughter, Mrs. Etta Foote, had just died in her home in Dickinson, North Dakota, from child birth. It has only been a short year since she left a loving home and went to that far away country a young bride full of hopes for the future. All are grieved that the young life is snapped asunder and tender sympathy to the bereaved ones. The remains are to be shipped to Nevada for interment. The funeral will take place Saturday morning at 9 o'clock at which time the funeral procession will leave the parental home for Iowa Center, where the services will be conducted by Rev. J. R. Horswell. Mrs. Foote was born April 17, 1867, at Iowa Center. In the year 1882 she became a disciple of the Master and united with the United Brethren Church. On moving to Nevada she became a member of the M. E. church April 17, 1892. She was married Jan. 18, '94 to Mr. O. E. Foote of Dickinson, N. Dakota where they have resided since their marriage. She was expecting to return home in November next and visit with friends and relatives.
