The Ames Watchman
Tom Swan remains were brought to Ames by Mr. Thornton of Cal., last Saturday evening at 10 o'clock, and Sunday P. M. at 2:30 his funeral was held at the M. E. church, of which he had been an active member since 1885. He died at California of consumption. Had he lived until July 10th he would have reached the age of 30. The funeral was one of the largest ever held in Ames. His many friends greatly miss him. The I. O. O. F. lodge and its auxilliary "Rebecca" took part in the services. Rev. Everly delivered a comforting sermon from numbers 23:10.
