From Story County Watchman February 16, 1894

DIED.--At the home of his parents, Wm. and Mary Abbott, in Union township, on the 10th of Feb., John Leonard Abbott, aged six years, 11 months and seven days. The funeral took place from the Methodist Church in this city Sunday, Feb. 11th, Rev. J. R. Horswell officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Cemetery to await the call of resurrection morning.
