Mary E., daughter of M. C. and M. L. Reagan, was born in Jasper county, Iowa, December 4th, 1870. Early in life she came with her parents to Story county and has since lived a part of the time in Nevada where she was highly esteemed by all who knew her. She was married to Mr. W. D. Drake, Nov. 23, 1892, and since then lived about five miles south-east of Nevada, where she died of consumption, Aug. 5, 1893. She was converted and united with the church when fifteen years old. She died in the triumphs of faith, having short time before called her relatives around her, and prayed for them and exorted them to meet her in heaven. The relatives she leaves to mourn are a husband, father and mother, two sisters and three brothers. The funeral services were largely attended and was conducted by her pastor Rev. W. W. Danner at the Evangelical church in the Mullen settlementat 4:30 p. m. Sunday, Aug. 6.
