Slater News: A sad accident occured last Sunday morning west of Slater. A boy fourteen years old who stayed with his Uncle W. S. Kennison was out riding his bicycle and when in the act of getting off his wheel fell stricking him his breast on the stepping block near the gate. He walked toward the house but fell before he reached it and died instantly. The boy is a son of Frank Kennison who died several years ago. His mother lives at Algona and was telegraphed but at the latest reports has not arrived yet....
