DIED--Oct. 16th at her home in this city Mrs. Mary McLain Wells in the 72nd year of her age. She was bron in Bradford County, Pa. and was twice married, the first time being to Wm. T. Armstrond who died in about one year. In 1844 she was married to Chester Wells with whom she moved to Story county in 1860 and settled in Story county she has since resided. Mr. Wells died in 1871. She was made of the material of which all our old pioneers were and was one of the noble hearted women who aided in settling up the great west and whose loss is an irrepairable one for those who are left behind. She was a member of the M. E. church and her funeral services were held by Rev. Danner, from her residence on Monday afternoon.
