From Story County Watchman September 23, 1892
Mrs. Jane Gallagher Rhodearmel was born of Scotch Irish parents in Clinton county, Pennsylvania, Jan. 5th, 1814. Her marriage to Jacob Rodearmel occured in 1837. In 1856 the two brought their family to Freeport, Illinois, and in 1872 they remove to Boone, Iowa, where Mr. Rodearmel was stationed as a purchasing agent for the Northwestern Railway Company. In the spring of '73 his illness brought them to the home of their children in Nevada, his life soon closed; and with her daughter here the widows reminaing years have been mainly spent. Mrs. Rodearmel's connection with the Christian church was from early years. Beginning with the Presbyterian denomination it was at her marriage transferred to the Baptist, her husbands choice; and in her death the Baptist church of Nevada loses a steadfast supporter.
To old friends and neighbors and to the Ladies Cemetery Society of Nevada grateful thanks are expressed by Mrs Ogden, and Messrs. R. H. and M. G. Rodearmel for tender kindness and most helpful service.
