From Story County Watchman July 29, 1892

OBITUARY.--Died,--At her father's home in this city. Lord's Day, July 24, 1892, Jennie M. Ringheim, aged 21 years, 4 months, 18 days.

The deceased, daughter of I. A. Ringheim, was a native of Nevada, attended our city schools and afterwards attended college at Grinnell, where she made a specialty of music. Baptised in infancy in the Norwegian Lutheran Church, she was also confirmed in that church. Last April along with her sisters she transferred her membership to the English Lutheran Church, of which she was an enthusiastically faithful member until her death. She had been sick for a number of weeks, at time seeming better, but all the while growing weaker, the troubles baffling the best medical skill of the town, until death finally came to relieve her on Lord's Day afternoon at 1:45 o'clock.

The funeral services were held both at the house and home at the Presbyterian Church. The singing was especially noteworthy. At the home services Miss Chambers and Mrs. Alison (of Grinnell) sang "Abide With Me." Miss Jennie's favorite hymn. In the church service, Miss Chambers sang "Home of the Soul" with much feeling and very sweetly. With Mr. Alison she also sang a most comforting duet, "The Morning Land." The local quartette sant, "Asleep in Jesus," and "Rest Spirit Rest," with feeling and taste.

At the grave the Lord's Prayer was chanted. On the whole the music was the most appropriate and was rendered more beautifully than at any other funeral in Nevada for a long time.

The large and sympathetic audience at the funeral, the costly and beautiful offerings and the many words spoken in kind remembrance have but imperfectly expressed the sorrow of everyone at the death of this young woman. Conspicuously giftes in the graces of person, training and character she won the affection of all with whom she came in contact. Her opportunities for usefulness and good influence were many and her disposition to meet them prompt and cheerful. No one among our young people could be more greatly missed nor more sincerely mourned. All the sympathy that can be offered is tendered to her immediate friends, for their great loss is shared in no small degree by all who admire and love one who is beautiful, accomplished and good.
