From Story County Watchman June 10, 1892

Mrs. Sebring, living some five miles north of Roland, on Sunday evening was mortally wounded by her team running away and smashing up things in general. During the running one of her legs some way got tangled and the lower portion of the limb was torn off, one portion remaining on the ground and some distance from the body. Help was promptly summoned but without avail and she died Monday. Her age was about 50 years.
