OBITUARY.--John Bennett.--At his home seven miles south-west of Nevada, Tuesday evening May 17, John Bennett, after a short illness departed this life, aged 71 years, 10 months, 8 days. He was a native of Penn'a, and married Lavina Carson, Feb. 10, 1848, who with several children still survive him.

The family moved to Illinois in the year 1868 and thence to Story Co., early in 1884. The funeral occurred at the new Methodist church several miles southwest of Nevada, on Thursday May 19th at 10 a. m., and the burial in the Nevada cemetery the services being conducted by Rev. George H. Schnur in absence of Rev. Danner.
