From Story County Watchman January 31, 1890

Monday Mrs. Elias Hendrickson, of Roland, died in this city at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. L. E. Allen, after a brief illness. Some time since she came here on a visit and to aid in caring for her daughter who was sick and with the result noted. She was a sister of Erick Sheldahl of Roland. The funeral took place Tuesday.

L. E. Allen desires us to return his sincere thanks to the neighbors and friends for their kindly assistance during the past illness of his wife and members of his family, and death of his mother-in-law and the sad rites pertaining thereto, and for their continued kindness as still being rendered. He trusts that none of them shall ever be placed in a position where it is needed, but should any ever be so situated, he will do all in his power to aid them.
