DIED.--Mrs. Julia Prouty, passed to the spirit world, July 26th, 1889, in the 70th year of her earth life, having been a resident of this community thirty-seven years. She leaves a family of six children, who though realizing that she had remained with them the allotted time, yet will deeply feel the loss of a mothers tender love and care. She was a woman of strong characteristics, and one whose example was worthy of imitation, and her departure will be felt by a large circle of friends.

Many years ago (before her husband preceded her to the life beyond), they together sought, and found a religion that satisfied them, far better than the doctrines taught for so many years, and when they crossed the so called river of death, it had no terrors, for they felt that just over the other side, loved ones were waiting to greet them.

Rest thee in peace, we would not call thee back,
To know the grief that comes with riper years,
To tread in sorrow all lifes thorny track,
And drain us the bitter cup of tears.
