From Story County Watchman March 1, 1889

A young child of Dr. Cramblet died last week Tuesday. The sympathies of the friends and neighbors of the family are extended to them in this their affliction.

Also in the same paper:

Little Clarence Glen, youngest child of E. B. and M. J. Cramblit, died Tuesday, February 19th, 1889, of Bronchial Pneumonia and was interred February 20, age 8 months, 3 days.

Little Clarence budded flower,
Treasure of our tender fold
Half the gushing love we bore thee,
Never can be told.

One brief, sweet time the gates unclosed,
the gate of Paradise;
Thrilled dumb with joy the Mother gazed,
Into her darling's eyes,

One brief, sweet time, and then they closed,
Those gates of Paradise,
And all lifes light seemed hid beneath,
Two little down drooped eyes.

But when the chanting angels sang
That morn in Paradise,
A dimpled baby just from earth,
Unclosed its smiling eyes.

It saw the radiant beauties shine,
Heard heavenly strains arise.
Nor missed the clasp of Mother arms,
So sweet was Paradise.
