ATLANTIC, Jan. 14.--[Special.]--Post-master S. M. Childs, of this city, died yesterday after an illness since last Wednesday. Childs was an old citizen of the county, having located in Lewis in 1865 and having removed from there to Atlantice in 1868. He was a man of wide acquaintance, a prominent Mason and was universally liked. His administration of the postoffice has been a most satisfactory character. He leaves a competence for his family.
