From Story County Watchman October 26, 1888

Nicholas Niles, an old resident of this county, from the neighborhood of Cambridge, died suddenly at his home in Smith county, Kansas, last week. He was engaged in digging potatoes at the time and fell over dead. What the cause was we have not learned.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Nicholas Niles was married to Elizabeth Reynard, whose family also resided in Story County.
