Mrs. Ball, mother of A. M. Ball died on Friday night. She had been sick for a considerable length of time. The remains were buried in the family lot at Cambridge.

OBITUARY:--On Saturday morning last occured the death of Mrs. Rebecca Ball. Her preparation had been fully made; death had no terrors, the suffering had been intense and long continued and the summons was received with joy.
She was born in Butler county, Ohio, January 4th, 1826. Her maiden name was Smith; she was married to Amos P. Ball in Carroll county, Indiana, in 1846, came to Story county in 1856 and had been a resident of this county ever since making about 32 years, was left a widow in August, 1866. She was the mother of seven children. Two sons, twins, one dieing in infancy and the other being A. M. Ball of this place, one girl died in infancy, and one, Rebecca, died at the age of 18. Two daughters, Melvira J. Wills and Mary B. Elliott reside at Trenton, Neb., Belle, is at Independence. Deceased was a Christian from her girlhood and a member of the M. E. Church about 40 years.--Intelligencer
