From Story County Watchman June 15, 1888

James Croker died on Tuesday last at his home near Colo after a brief illness aged about 45 years. He was a native of Ireland but came to this coutry at an early day and for nearly 20 years has meade this county his home. He leaves a wife and 10 children to mourn his loss. The remains were interred in the Catholic Cemetery at this point Wednesday.
