The Ames Watchman

The infant child of Carter Rice died on Sunday last.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: I believe this child to be Winnie M. Rice who is buried in the Ames Cemetery. [Edwin] Carter Rice and Hattie Maxwell Rice's fourth child was a girl b. 23 Feb. 1887, making her just over a year at this time. Their next, fifth, child was Harry M. Rice, born after this child died on January 29, 1889. The only other child from this family in the Ames Cemetery is Earl Maxwell Rice who was b. 9 July, 1881-- hardly an infant in 1888.
