Mrs. C. E. Turner lately received news of the death of her father Ashel Calkins, who died at Nevada City, California, on the 26th of February, at the age of 84 years. Mr. Calkins spent some time with his daughter here several years ago and will be remembered by many of our citizens whose acquaintance he made.
