From Story County Watchman February 10, 1888

On Friday morning last John McCarthy, died at his home in Nebraska City. He was a brother of Dan, Henry, C. G., Mrs. B. Reid* and Mrs. Chas. Noland* of this county.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: I believe these spellings are wrong. Mariah McCarthy was married to Benedict Read and Jane Ann McCarthy was married to Charles Nowlin.
