From Story County Watchman June 10, 1887

DIED--June 1st 1887. At the home of his father, George Danskin Esq., two miles north of Colo, Story county, Iowa, of typhoid fever, afer an illness of about two weeks, James D. Danskin, in the 28th year of his age.

The deceased was a young man of high moral character, and of great promise in life, but was cut down in the midst of his days. He was taken sick from home, but reached his Fathers hous and was permitted to die among his friends.

The funeral was largely attended on the 3rd, in the M. E. Church in Colo, the sermon being preached by Rev. R. A. Ferguson, assisted in the services by Revs. Welker and Gilchrist of Colo; after which the remains wer laid to rest in the beautiful cemetery at Colo, where they rest in hope of the resurrection of the just. The music by the choir was appropriate and impressing.

WHEREAS, It has pleased Almighty God th Supreme Master and Maker of the Universe to take from us our beloved friend and brother, James D. Danskin, in the pride and strength of his manhood.

WHEREAS, This lodge has lost a true and faithful brother, a zealous worker, a beloved and esteemed friend.

WHEREAS, His beloved family have lost a dutiful son, a fond and affectionate brother, and

WHEREAS, We realize that God in his infinite wisdom and mercy, doeth all things well, and we humbly bow in submission to his divine rulings. Be it

RESOLVED, That this Lodge extend to the family of the deceased Brother our heartfelt sympathy in this their hour of affliction.

RESOLVED, That this Lodge be draped in morning for the period of 30 days and a copy of ther Resolutions be printed in the County papers and be spread upon the records of the Lodge.
