News has just been received here of the sad death of Mr. Ole Thompson in Dakota. He had secured employment on a switching engine on the C. M. & St. P. and in some manner got killed while on duty. Mr. Thompson was an old acquaintance of your correspondent, being schoolmates and playmates in Calamus, Clinton county, Iowa. Mr. T. moved from that place to Ida county, Iowa, a few years ago, but finally left farming and entered the employ of the C. M. & St. P., company with the result as state above. Mr. T. was a nephew of Mr. Knute Tolbertson of this place and a cousin of Mrs. L. O. Vigen, and had many friends here who will be pained to learn of his untimely end.
