From Story County Watchman January 28, 1887

DIED.--At the residence of Mr. Frank Burch, near McCallsburg, on the 12th inst. Mable, aged 6 years; 16th George, 11 years; 18th Gertie, 4 years; 22nd Eddie, 9 years; 26th Clara 13 years. This leaves the family childless and the entire community symapthetic withthem in this their hour of affliction. The disease is that of diptheria.

The funeral services of the children of Birch, was held on Monday at the Galile school house east of town, by Rev. J. W. Sibbitt.
