From Story County Watchman December 24, 1886

KAYNOR:--At the Clark house, this city, on Tuesday evening December 14th, at 8 o'clock, W. A. Kaynor, aged 37 years.

The Journal is greatly pained to pen the above sad announcement. Mr. Kaynor was a bustling business man and has been identified with the interests of Sanborn for the past four years, having taken charge of the Clark house in the spring of 1882. Under his skillful management this excellent house at once became a paying investment and has since gained a reputation that is known generally throughout the state. He has dealt largely in stock and had given much of his time for the past three months to the business. But in his untiring business efforts he neglected that very necessary adjunct of health, rest. His constitution was unable to sustain the great physical requirements forced upon it by long railroad journies and trips through the country, buying and disposing of stock. About six weeks ago Mr. Kaynor was seized with what appeared to be a severe cold. But symptoms became more alarming, and last Saturday, catarrh of the head set in which speedily rendered medical aid of no avail.

Mr. Kaynor married Miss Annie Winter, of Cedar Falls, Dec. 9th 1875, whom he leaves, and a promising little family to mourn a loss that can never be retrieved. He was a member of the Masonic order.
