The Messenger Davenport, Iowa. The Messenger says that "The noble qualities of the Priest, his high standing among the priests of dioces and among his parishoners, the imposing ceremony of his Holy Mother the church the fact that his funeral occurred the morning afer a great feast nearly fifty priests were present, all tend in a humble way to prove the noble traits of a young but zealous servant of God. He came to the Dubuque diocese and was given charge of the Rilly parish in 1881 where he remained until a few weeks ago when he was given Dorchester, a place which he never reached. He was suffering from a severe cold caught in one of the long drives to which a priest on a western mission is daily subject to, which resulted in pneumonia the cause of his death.
