SHOT:--On Friday last just after noon, a young man named John Grubb, accidentally shot himself, being killed instantly. It appears that he and a brother had been to Nevada, and were on their way home near Elwell, when just after crossing the bridge leading out of town, and near the residence of Mr. Frazier, he hailed a boy on the side walk, in a bantering tone of voice, and raising an old army musket by the muzzle, and pulling it towards him, whereupon the gun went off and lodged the contents in the breast and entering the heart. He made on spasmodic jump and fell upon the snow by the roadside. The team was stopped as soon as possible and the body placed in the sleigh and brought back to town. An inquest was held by Justice Fitchpatrick, and the returns of an accidental shooting rendered. The body was returned to his home that evening. He was a little past 21 years old, and his widowed mother and brother and sister have th heartfelt sympathy of all.
