From Story County Watchman October 10, 1884

A short time since the report reached here and elsewhere that a death had occured at Iowa Center under suspicious circumstances, and the result is given as follows:

STATE OF IOWA,}
Story County, } ss.

At an inquest holden at Iowa Centre on the 5th, day of October 1884 before J. I. Hostetter coroner of said county upon the body of Jane Miller there lying dead by the jurors whose names are hereto attached. The said jurors upon their oath do say we believe that Jane Miller came to her death by natural cause.

SOLOMON COUGHENOUR,}
D. A. MOORE, } Jurors
DAVIS HANKINS, }

Atterted, J. I. HOSTETTER, Co. Coroner.

The above shows that our county Coroner is a faithful official and attends well to his duty and there ends the big scare started about this girl being murdered.
