From Story County Watchman August 1, 1884

Mrs. Dr. Brown died in Cambridge Wednesday afternoon after a lingering illness. Her husband had just returned with his beloved wife from Knoxville, Iowa at which place Mrs. Brown had been visiting with relatives for some two months. Two hours after her arrival home she gently fell asleep in death. The disease which terminated her life was that dread disease, consumption.
